It's difficult for Australia to break new ground.

The top summits have long been mastered.

We're talking about the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

It needed up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the bowlers that have sported the yellow jersey over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to maintain a record if not provided the possibility.

Whether this latest epic knock topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the argument supporting final game tension. Some might respond with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was considerably tougher to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this knock was preceded by six games in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in training, it's been a frustrating experience because it seemed I lacked timing whatsoever," said Healy.

"But once you take the field, your competitive instincts kick in and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the emerging pace bowler in every game, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and after that the batsman was underway.

"An opportunity to take the field and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, sort of got me going," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

Once she was dismissed the team required another 66 at one run per ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the assurance to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, should it happen, we believe we can achieve it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this championship want to hear.

In recent days a sense they will win from any position has become more firm - this success following win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she afterwards commented she regretted not playing through the pain.

Yet even as she later admitted those fitness problems have postponed consideration of ending her career, this championship is likely to be her last as captain in 50-over cricket and she is still to achieve a world championship as skipper.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her last major obstacle.
