AC Shadows Reveals Unexpected Attack on Titan Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected partnership that breaks usual predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Disclosed
According to the authorized release, "A mysterious confrontation leads protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where hints of banned ceremonies and terrifying transformations resonate through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a clandestine cult.
The adventure focuses on "bizarre tests and a fearsome enemy" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Locations and Transformations
The teaser showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Extra Material
Players who finish the adventure will obtain an unique katana alongside numerous objects secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Addition
This update also brings the game's latest no-cost story episode, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic abilities: Naoe introduces a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also features a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This marks hardly the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with famous anime franchises. The series previously included a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
